What is a common misunderstanding about the word "God" that, if clarified, could help people connect more deeply with their own spiritual journey?
- A very common and deeply limiting misunderstanding about the word “God” is the belief that God is a separate, external being who exists outside of us and must be reached, pleased, or rescued from a distance. This belief creates dependency, fear, and a sense of separation from God. But what is God, truly? God is your own consciousness, the living life force infused with awareness, the very intelligence that creates and transforms itself into forms, objects, and beings. It is the inner light that powers our thoughts, emotions, and actions. From this light arise the ego, the mind, and the body, and into this same light we ultimately return. We emerge as countless forms, live our experiences, and then dissolve back into our own divine source.
- God is not a person. God is a presence that must be felt. When this presence awakens within the heart, one experiences eternal love, peace, and bliss. This is the light that performs all miracles, fulfills every desire, and silently guides life from within. We are not separate from this light. God has always been within us. With this realization, the spiritual journey gains true purpose and meaning. One becomes ready for the inward voyage to discover the True Self, to see one’s own God.
- Prayer then becomes a dialogue with the higher self. Meditation becomes a sacred tool to listen to the inner voice and receive guidance. Manifestation becomes the conscious act of allowing the light to transform reality. Spiritual awakening occurs when one finally meets the True Self, and in that moment, the realization dawns: I was both the seeker and the destination. I am my own God. All else was illusion. Fear dissolves. Separation disappears. Ego falls away. What remains is the highest awareness, where one no longer seeks God, but lives as that divine presence itself.
