What is Heaven and Hell?
- Heaven and Hell are not distant places in the clouds or beneath the earth, they are realms
of our own creation, illuminated by the light or shadow of our actions. They arise from the
karmic patterns we weave through our thoughts, words, and deeds.
- Life on Earth is the soul’s field of learning, where each experience, whether embraced in
love or steeped in selfishness, shapes our inner being. When we leave the body, we do not
step into a place chosen at random; we enter the vibrational realm that resonates with the
consciousness we have cultivated.
- If a life is spent in cruelty, deceit, or harm, the soul will naturally gravitate toward a realm
reflecting that darkness, a “hell” of its own making. Likewise, a life rooted in kindness,
truth, and selfless service will draw the soul into luminous realms of peace and joy, a
personal “heaven.”
- The law is eternal: As we sow, so shall we reap. Heaven and Hell are but mirrors of the
self, showing us what we have become. Let’s take a look at few examples to explain this:
- Heaven – The Garden of Light: When Anika’s life ended, she stepped into a vast
garden bathed in golden light. The air was fragrant, the waters clear, and every soul
she met radiated warmth. Here, there was no fear, no need, only peace. She soon
understood: this garden was not a reward given by another, it was the reflection of
her own heart. In life, she had sown kindness, lifted the suffering of others, and
nurtured love wherever she could. Each seed she planted in the world had
blossomed here in her afterlife. She was simply walking through the garden she had
been tending all along.
- Hell – The House of Shadows: When Vikram’s life ended, he found himself in a
dim, narrow corridor. The air was heavy, the silence pierced by distant cries. The
walls seemed to close in on him, and the faces he met were twisted in mistrust and
anger. This place was not a punishment sent by a judging god, it was the echo of
his own deeds. In life, he had cheated, manipulated, and inflicted pain without
remorse. The darkness he had sown in the hearts of others now formed the walls
around him. He walked through a prison of his own making, bound not by chains,
but by the weight of his choices.
- The Mirror of the Soul: When Suresh’s earthly life ended, he found himself
standing before a great mirror made of light. A voice without form said, “Step
through, and you will walk in the world you have built.” He stepped forward and
was instantly surrounded by shadow. The air was thick, the ground uneven, and the
faces around him reflected fear and hostility. The place felt cold and suffocating.
He realized these were the echoes of the moments when he had lied, hurt others,
and acted in greed. This was Hell, not a punishment, but a living tapestry woven
from his own darker deeds. As he walked, memories arose of other moments, times
when he had shown compassion, spoken truth, and offered help without expecting
anything in return. Each of these memories glowed like a small flame. As he
focused on them, the shadows began to dissolve. Soon, he found himself in a vast,
sunlit meadow. The air was warm, and the souls around him radiated joy. Flowers
bloomed where his kind actions had once touched another’s life. This was Heaven,
the reflection of his higher self, formed from the love and light he had sown. The
voice returned: “These realms are not separate places. They are the mirrors of your
own heart. Where you dwell is determined by what you choose to plant.”
