What is fear and how to overcome it?
Fear is one of the oldest companions of the human journey. It is woven into our biology
through survival instincts passed down from generation to generation, the body’s way of
protecting itself from harm. Early humans needed fear to stay alert to predators, dangers,
and threats. Over time, this primal response was carried forward in our DNA, becoming
part of our collective memory.
However, in the modern world, fear often shifts from protecting us to limiting us. We no
longer fear wild beasts in the forest, yet the same inner mechanism now reacts to public
speaking, financial uncertainty, rejection, or the unknown. These inherited patterns of fear
live not only in our bodies but in our subconscious mind, shaped by family stories, cultural
conditioning, and past-life impressions carried by the soul.
To overcome fear, one must recognize that fear is a program, not our true Self. The soul
is fearless; fear belongs to the mind and body. Be an observer and watch the fear without
judgment. Ask, What am I truly afraid of? Is it a real danger or a story my mind is telling?
The issue is that all the fears are buried deep into our subconscious mind and the only way
to burn these is to go deeper in the subconscious mind using meditation and face the fear
and you will see it a self-constructed pattern that keep bothering us in the conscious or
active world. A simple way is to challenge the fear by taking risk. You will find that it was
a harmless smoke that you felt like a monster chasing you in your life. Just remind yourself
daily: I am not this body, I am the eternal light. Fear cannot touch what is eternal. Just
surrender to your own higher self and leave the outcome to him. Fear loses its grip when
trust takes its place.
The ultimate Spiritual Truth is that Fear is a shadow cast by the mind when it forgets the
soul’s infinite nature. The more you live in awareness of your True Self, the more the
shadow dissolves, until fear becomes just another wave in the vast ocean of your being.
